The comprehensive cardiac rehabilitation program at Medical City Arlington consists of an inpatient educational visit from one of our cardiopulmonary staff. We talk about your diagnosis and procedure, discuss personal risk factors for heart disease and positive effects that lifestyle modification plays in managing your cardiovascular health. Our staff focuses on establishing goals, reconditioning cardiovascular education and risk factor management.

This outpatient phase consists of weekly sessions and is designed for patients with a recent history of Stable Angina, Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA), Coronary Stenting, Heart Attack (MI), Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), Valve Repair or Replacement and Heart Transplant. Each sixty minute exercise session is supervised by our staff. During your sessions you will wear a lightweight monitor which allows us to view your EKG, heart rate and document your body's response while working out. Your cardiologist or referring physician will receive reports on your progress during the program.

At Medical City Arlington, patient education is one of our top priorities for all of our patients. We encourage our patients to continue their journey towards heart health by joining our maintenance exercise program. This self-paced phase is open to people with or without cardiovascular risk factors, those with a history of heart disease but no recent event and those who have completed our Cardiac Rehab program. As always we have staff on site to help you reach your fitness goals.
