PGY-1 pharmacy practice

The PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY-2) pharmacy residency training. At Medical City Arlington, the resident is provided broad experiences in the inpatient setting to develop the clinical and interpersonal skills necessary to excel in practice through the following rotational experiences:

  • Academia
  • Administration
  • Cardiology
  • Critical care
  • Emergency medicine
  • Infectious diseases
  • Informatics
  • Internal medicine
  • Neonatal intensive care

Important program information

There is one PGY-1 resident position available starting in July. This competitive, 12-month program, will include full standard benefits and stipend.

The program has a partnership with University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy to offer a Teaching Certificate program.

Application requirements

  • PharmD or equivalent experience
  • Eligible for licensure in Texas
  • On-site interview of selected applicants
  • Application form including:

    • Three letters of recommendation
